Succession
Primary Succession:
Flooding occurs often in tropical rainforests, causing the top soil to get stripped away. This means that the environment must make and replace that topsoil, which is primary succession in tropical rainforests.
Secondary Succession:
Secondary succession occurs when events like trees getting struck by lightning or get blown over by wind. This in turn causes the overlapping collapse of trees. The event can create a small clearing of dead trees which opens up the forest floor to sunlight. Sunlight that now reaches the forest floor helps certain organism grow and allows for new plants to grow in.
