Density-dependent
There are many density-dependent limiting factors that affect this ecosystem. Density-dependent limiting factors are any factors that limit the size of a population of a species whose effect is dependent on the number of individuals in a population. These are some density-dependent limiting factors.
- Diseases in plants and animals
- Available space
- Amount of nutrients in the soil
- Food availability

- Sunlight: This is a big limiting factor for tropical rainforests. Plants on the floor don’t get much sunlight because of the leaves in the canopy level of trees so smaller plants have to adapt to survive off of little amounts of sunlight.
- Water: Plants in tropical rainforests need a lot of water in order to survive. During seasons with the least amount of rain, this is a big limiting factor
